By Jay Hunter – An Emmy Award, or simply Emmy, recognises excellence in the television industry, and corresponds to the Academy Award, the Tony Award, and the Grammy Award.

After an immense sixth series, Game of Thrones has bagged itself a whopping 23 nominations including Best Drama. Among the many nominees are three for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series, for Emilia Clark, Maisie Williams and Lena Headey respectfully. Whilst both Peter Dinklage and Kit Harington each earned an Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series nomination.
