By Jay Hunter – In news that will elate Marvel fans around the world, Netflix debuted a trailer for the upcoming Luke Cage series. Marvel have been noted that their TV series often cater to an older audience, as opposed to their world beating cinematic universe.

Luke Cage (Mike Colter) first appeared in the critically acclaimed Jessica Jones series. Imprisoned for a crime he did not commit, he gains superpowers in the form of unbreakable skin and superhuman strength. The character frequently teams up with fellow superhero Iron Fist, a character who has also been teased at this years Comic-Con (see here), and eventually starts a family with Jessica Jones.

The shows cast also includes: Mahershala Ali (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 & 2) as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Alfre Woodard (State of Affairs) as Mariah Dillard, Simone Missick (Ray Donovan) as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi (Sons of Anarchy) as Shades, and Rosario Dawson reprising her Daredevil and Jessica Jones role as Hell’s Kitchen Night Nurse, Claire Temple.

Daredevil season 1 & 2 and Jessica Jones season 1 are now available on Netflix. Luke Cage season 1 will arrive on September 30th, 2016. The Defenders and Iron Fist arrive in 2017. Release dates for Jessica Jones season 2 andThe Punisher have not yet been announced.
