By Jay Hunter – Television series that are based on loved movies don’t usually get the best treatment, but FOX’s The Exorcist will be hoping to break that trend.

The pilot episode for the new series is directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), and scripted by Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four). It set to star Oscar-winner Geena Davis (Beetlejuice) as Angela Rance. Ben Daniels (House of Cards) and Alfonso Herrera (Sense8) play two priests who begin investigating Angela’s possessed daughter.

A new trailer was released at San Diego Comic-Con this week, focusing more on the series visuals much more than original trailer which focused more on the shows plot. You can check it out below!

The Exorcist premieres Friday, September 23rd @9pm on FOX.
