By Jay Hunter Carnifex are considered one of the ‘big four’ deathcore bands, but after being around for over a decade, they finally seem to be striving away from that label and becoming something unique in the world of metal.

Carnifex have been experimenting with black metal flavours with their last few albums and with Slow Death they’ve perfected their sound. Whilst deathcore still remains at the roots of the album, atmospheric synths and blast beats add new layers to their sound.

Vocally Scott Lewis has never been as strong as he is on this album and his range is flawlessly executed throughout.
