Back in blackThe Death of Superman, DC Comics

The following article contains spoilers for Batman v Superman

With San Diego Comic-Con starting point for the Justice League’s marketing campaign, many fans are still asking questions about the Batman v Superman fallout, primarily is Superman alive or dead?

Of course, it’s obvious at some point the Man of Steel will return, after all we got confirmation late last week that the Superman sequel is in “active development” and remains a “top priority” for Warner Brothers. What isn’t obvious however, is what iteration of the character we will see, artist George Evangelista recently released some great concept fan art for a long haired Kal-El, donning long hair and a black Kryptonian recovery suit (see header). Well, it appears Evangelista is on to something, because Henry Cavill (Superman), just released this image via his Instagram page:

Whilst it’s likely the new Man of Steel will take inspiration from The Return of Superman arc, most comic-book movies cherry pick elements from numerous stories and blend them together to create an original story.

Personally, we’re just looking forward to hearing Wonder Woman’s theme music again
