Welcome to the Kingdom
By Jay Hunter –Record breaking television show, The Walking Dead returns to our screens this October for it’s seventh season. The show has a extremely passionate fanbase clambering for any and all information regarding the new season. With questions reaching fever-pitch after the season six cliffhanger, we’re still no closer to finding out which character has reached the end of their journey, by the hands of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Lucille.
From the trailer originally aired at San Diego Comic-Con, many fans were drawn to The Kingdom, headed by King Ezekiel (and his tiger). With the marketing mainly focusing on who will meet their demise in the season seven premiere, Ezekiel fans have been left in the dark, until now.
Speaking to The Wrap, AMC president Josh Sapan has said the series could continue for “many more years”, which is hardly surprising considering how much money the show makes. He continued to say:
“[Star Trek] came and went three times. We do think that we have a franchise [in The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead] that is one of the rare franchises that you occasionally come across in what we do for a living.“
“The environment is more cluttered and it is more challenging to be meaningful. The nice news is that if you look at cable dramas, and you look at the top 10, we have five of them. And that’s a pretty good place to be.“
