Including live action, documentary and animation films, the public will be asked to judge and decide their favourite!
Goodfellas (24th January)
As part of the national Scorsese season, Odeon will be showing the gangster magnum opus, Goodfellas. Often hailed as one of the greatest movies of all time. Starring Ray Liotta, Robert De Nero and Joe Pesci, Goodfellas is an unflinching, hard-hitting classic. “Whats funny?”
Swan Lake (5th February)
The most famous ballet of all time, Swan Lake will come to selected screens next month. The story of white swan Odette and her rival black swan Odile, prima ballerina Svetlana Zakharova gives a mesmerising performance, propelled by technical prowess.
The Thing (6th February)
John Carpenter’s sci-fi masterpiece, The Thing will be showing at Manchester Printwork’s on February 6th. A movie of unparalleled practical effects is moved along with a terrifying undercurrent of paranoia. Arguably Carpenters best movie, it ranked #17 for the Chicago Film Critics Association Scariest Film’s Ever Made.
Cape Fear (13th March)
Showing in Manchester Printwork’s on March 13th – Scorsese’s agile and chic, Cape Fear is a splendidly mainstream white knuckle picture with an unnerving performance from Robert De Niro. A ferocious thriller telling the story of an ex-con who sets out to destroy the lawyer who sent him to jail years before. Keep an eye out to spot cameo appearances by a stars of the original movie!
