We Made it to the UK Blog Awards Finals!

A special thank you letter to every person who voted

By Jay Hunter  As you may know, earlier this month we found out we made it to the finals of the UK Blog Awards 2017 due to public vote. We know this is a little late, such is the demands of full time work, full time blogging and a podcast! But better late than never. Myself, Beth and Coxy all grew up in Liverpool, which is now slowly building itself up as a film mainstay in the UK. Just recently, we’ve had Marvel, Harry Potter and The Dark Knight trilogy all filming in our beloved city. We started Jump Scare in April 2015 in order to exercise all the thoughts we had on cinema. You’ll often find us writing quick thoughts on our phones, setting reminders for daily tasks or business ideas, a blog just allows us to do it on a grander scale.

As you could guess from the name, Jump Scare UK started out solely as a horror movie blog (of which we are huge champions of, both from a personal and artistic level), however due to the popularity of the blog, we have now moved into other genres of film.

To be a finalist is a very humbling experience, it’s another step in the right direction for us. Many people would have you believe that writing a blog is self-indulgent and facile. However I can tell you that fitting in a successful site that engages with the online community around your full time job is far from placid! It’s tough, but fulfilling and we’re extremely grateful to every single person who voted for Jump Scare UK.

Your friends,
Jay, Beth, Coxy.
