Resident Evil: The Final Chapter – Review

The final chapter, you promise?

By Jay Hunter – Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Freddys Dead: The Final Nightmare, Final Destination. Final, never quite means final, does it? It’s doubtful that Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, will be the last reanimation of the series either. Coming ten years – and five instalments – after the original movie, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is back for her ‘final’ outing, but does it warrant a sequel?

Finding the aforementioned Alice without her psychic powers. The Final Chapter tells the story of the super soldier trying to form an alliance and rally survivors in Raccoon City for a final showdown with the evil Umbrella Corporation and the undead.

As with previous outings, director Paul W.S Anderson (Alien v Predator) directs slick looking action, propped up by nauseating dialogue. It’s an essential carbon copy of what Underworld: Blood Wars gave us earlier in the year, but with better direction and budget. It’ll no doubt be a worthy round off for hardcore fans, but others will wish they were undead as a T-Virus victim.
