By Jay Hunter – It seems Hollywood mega-studio, 20th Century Fox have given the green light to the pupating Fly remake.
Reports from Empire Magazine suggest J.D Dillard is in talks to co-write and direct the new adaptation based on the George Langelaan short story. Dillard is most well known for his action-drama, Sleight which premiered at last years Sundance Film Festival.
Whilst the most famed version of The Fly is in fact itself a remake – directed by David Cronenberg, the 1986 remake sees Jeff Goldblum slowly turn into a heap of goo and mess. The news has come as an annoyance to many fans who are suspecting a newly sanitised studio version, sighting PG-13 and CGI as the main reasons as to why.
First adapted in 1958 (see above) by Kurt Neumann, the original movie starred David Hedison and Vincent Price as a scientist looked to perfect his teleportation machine, becoming infused with a fly during the process.
